Quick Car Wash Left Her Trapped In An Endless Spin Cycle

  • A Pennsylvania woman got trapped in a car wash for an hour.
  • After a few attempts to escape, the woman called the police.
  • They freed her, and the car wash’s owner gave gift cards.

Salt and winter weather wreak havoc on vehicles, so one Pennsylvania woman decided to stop for a car wash in Waynesboro. Little did she know, it was about to be the longest car wash in her life.

Upon entering the automatic car wash, the doors apparently closed, and a cleaning cycle began. However, partway through, the system reportedly malfunctioned.

This left Felicia Sullivan in a bit of a pickle as she couldn’t open the doors manually. The emergency open button reportedly didn’t work either, and she couldn’t attract the attention of other car wash users by banging on the doors.

ABC7 implies she was trapped in the car wash for approximately 15 minutes before she finally called the police for help. They arrived 45 minutes later and were able to free her.

While that’s far from ideal, Sullivan appears to be taking it in stride as she said, “Sometimes things happen, but no harm came from my experience.” On top of that, the car wash owner gave her a “bunch of gift cards” to help make up for the less-than-stellar experience.

Thankfully, this story had a happy ending, which isn’t always the case. In the past, we’ve seen a Range Rover Evoque driver accidentally open their liftgate mid-wash and cause plenty of damage. We’ve also seen a driver accidentally hit the accelerator and cause a chain-reaction accident.
