BMW M4, Toyota Supra And Audi Racing In Front Of Cop Manage To Get Away
- California Highway Patrol spotted street racers actively speeding and racing on a busy highway.
- After observing a pair and then a trio race one another, the officer decided to give chase.
- He skipped the two that had slowed down and chased a BMW M4, but failed to catch up.
Some police officers will fish to find something worth ticketing a driver for. Others will patiently wait for a suspect to commit an infraction before trying to ticket them. In the video below, a California Highway Patrol cop does the latter and finds out fast that it’s hard to catch some racers.
It’s unclear how the officer in question found these racers on I-5 in California, but our video starts with him catching up to a pair of cars, a Toyota Supra and a BMW M4. The officer rolls up behind the pair while he’s in lane three of four. The two take off and the officer watches and moves over into lane two.

The two racers slow down and the officer slowly reels them in but clearly, they don’t know, or don’t care, that CHP is behind them. Moments after the officer gets relatively close, they rocket away again. This cycle repeats one more time but in the third instance, a third car, what appears to be an Audi of some sort, pops up to play with the BMW and Toyota.
This time, the trio takes off and the CHP officer waits perhaps a bit too long to throw on his lights and give chase. Interestingly, the car racing in the far right lane slows down and so does the Toyota Supra. For some reason, the CHP officer skips both of them and pursues the BMW.
For the next few minutes, the officer and his partner in the car relay what they can see of the M4 to dispatch. Despite that, none of it makes an impact in terms of actually stopping the car. They race into the area around Disneyland and then away from it without confirming the sight of the car. Ultimately, they decide to discontinue the pursuit due to the risk it presents to the public. No, they didn’t catch the racers, but nobody got hurt here, so we can all be thankful for that.
