The Hangar Gives Rich U.S. Collectors A Luxurious Place To Store Their Cars
What do you do if you own a fleet of exotics but don’t want to store them at home? Well, if you live in Florida, you can store them at an exclusive facility known as ‘The Hangar,’ an establishment made up of privately owned storage spaces and dwellings that will keep your cars safe.
The Hangar is the brainchild of Scott Cunningham and first opened a facility in Riviera Beach. This site is home to 41 individual units where owners can store cars, motorcycles, and any other prized possessions they may have. The Hangar is now building a second facility near Palm Beach International Airport that will be five times the size and serve as the ultimate playground for wealthy locals.
Speaking with Robb Report, Cunningham says he got the idea for The Hangar while at a private airport hangar in Florida. Owned by his friend, the hangar didn’t just have planes but also cars and other memorabilia. Cunningham wanted to replicate the feel of this hangar and provide car collectors an alternative to storing their cars at warehouses in industrial parks.

Given that the suites are owned and not rented, members of The Hangar can customize them and make them feel like a second home or the ultimate man cave.
“We’ve got people who spent well over a million dollars on a 2,000-square-foot place, just building it out; with $100,000 wine cellars for a million-dollar collection – and that’s before the first piece of memorabilia or car goes inside,” Cunningham said.
The second facility takes things to a new level and will include private golf and driving simultaneous, 150-inch TVs, boardrooms, and a billiard room. Members will also have access to an onsite concierge, a catering kitchen, and benefit from 24/7 live-monitored security.
As you can probably imagine, buying a storage space in The Hangar isn’t cheap. In fact, prices for spaces at the new site start at $799,000 for a 1,828-square-foot area or $1.6 million for a 3,756-square-foot space.
