Kia Pays Tribute To The Stinger As All-Electric EV6 GT Takes Its Place

Since 2017, the Kia Stinger has been the brand’s flagship performance model but with the South Korean car manufacturer now embarking on an electric future, it’s time to bid farewell to the Stinger.

To pay tribute to the car, Kia has produced an entertaining video that shows the Stinger in all its glory alongside the EV6 GT which, according to Kia, will continue the Stinger’s legacy and act as the brand’s new range-topping performance model.

The video starts off by showing a Stinger and an EV6 GT parked while overlooking the ocean. They are shown communicating with each other, boasting of their performance attributes and explaining all of the prestigious awards that they have won.

The duo then head out and take to a circuit. Both the Stinger and EV6 GT are shown being pushed to their limits, drifting around corners and switching positions along the track’s main straight. They end their on-track dance with some donuts before the Stinger bids farewell to the EV6 GT.

In December, Kia confirmed that it would send off the Stinger with the limited-edition Tribute Edition. Just 1,000 examples will be produced for the entire world, each of which will be fitted with the flagship 3.3-liter twin-turbocharged V6.

The exterior of the Stinger Tribute Edition can be finished in a new shade of matte gray dubbed Moonscape and also comes standard with 19-inch black wheels and black brake calipers with red Brembo lettering. The cabin of the Tribute Edition also stands out thanks to Terracotta brown leather and faux carbon fiber on parts of the console and door panels.
