The Manual Returns To The 2023 Dodge Hellcat Challenger For One Final Year

Image
We’ve known for some time that 2023 would mark the very end of the Hellcat motor and the Dodge Challenger as we know it. We’ve also known that it would go out with a bang in the form of multiple ‘Last Call’ special editions. Now, we’re finding out that it’ll also be available with a true three-pedal-equipped manual transmission too. Take a quick stroll over to Dodge’s 2023MY lineup and you’ll find a number of interesting facts about the last year of the Challenger. Most of them aren’t all that surprising though. Eight different trim levels make up the lineup and among them, five engines are available. What’s somewhat shocking is that, across the lineup, six transmissions are available and one is a manual that comes standard in the 2023 SRT Hellcat . That’s a change we didn’t fully expect after Dodge indefinitely discontinued the row-your-own gearbox for the Hellcat back in late 2021 . It also means that the eight-speed automatic will likely cost extra for those who want it. More:

Jaguar Unveils Lighter And More Powerful I-Type 6 Race Car For Formula E

Image
Jaguar TCS Racing has unveiled the new I-Type 6, which is being billed as the “most advanced and efficient electric Jaguar race car ever.” Set to make its racing debut in January, the model is a Gen3 racer that features front and rear powertrains. The front motor-generator provides 250 kW of regeneration, while the rear unit provides 350 kW for a grand total of 600 kW. That’s more than twice the regenerative capability of the Gen2 car and it eliminates the need for conventional rear brakes. Besides the increased regeneration, the car is 163 lbs (74 kg) lighter and has an additional 134 hp (100 kW / 136 PS) as the model now develops up to 469 hp (350 kW / 476 PS). Thanks to the weight loss and extra oomph, the car is now able to hit a top speed of 200 mph (322 km/h). Honda Unveils Next-Gen Driver Assistance Tech, Will Embrace Hands-Free Driving

Image
When you think of advanced driver assistance systems and semi-autonomous driving technology, which automaker comes to mind? Probably not Honda , but the company is looking to change that by announcing new features for their Sensing 360 and Sensing Elite technology suites. Honda Sensing 360 is the mid-level suite of driver assistance systems and it will become standard equipment on all models sold in the United States by 2030. The Honda Sensing 360 suite will feature a Super Cruise-like semi-autonomous driving system known as Advanced In-Lane Driving with Hands-off Function. While the name leaves a lot to be desired, the system will keep the vehicle centered in its lane while also controlling acceleration, braking, and steering. The system also has an Advanced Lane Change with Hands-off Function, which enables drivers to automatically change lanes when the semi-autonomous driving system is activated. Formula 2 Driver Amaury Cordeel Loses License After Filming Himself Going 111 MPH In 30 MPH Zone

Formula 2 driver Amaury Cordeel may be able to drive a race car very well, but he won’t be allowed to drive a road car for a while. The Belgian driver has lost his driver’s license after being caught speeding in his hometown of Tamise, Belgium. Those caught speeding excessively never really have anyone to blame but themselves but, as Motorsport.com reports, that is especially the case here. Cordeel was reportedly caught because of a video that he posted to his TikTok account in 2020. In it, the driver was reportedly traveling at speeds of at least 179 km/h (111 mph) on a street with a speed limit of 50 km/h (31 mph). Cordeel was found guilty by a police tribunal in Termonde, which is to the north-west of Brussels, and fined €3,600 ($3,735 USD at current exchange rates), in addition to losing his driver’s license, for which he will be allowed to reapply in six months.
