Scooter Rider Kicks Cop Car But The Cop Car Kicks Back

If the law doesn’t get you, karma will. That’s the conclusion we’re drawing from this video of a scooter rider getting a taste of his own medicine after trying to vandalize a police car in North Wales.

The clip shows a police patrol car parked on a wet, urban street in Wrexham when a man on a scooter appears on the same road, riding towards the car. A quad bike is also visible, riding illegally on the sidewalk. There’s no sign of the police officer, so the scene is set for the vandals to damage the cop car and make a clean getaway. But that’s not what happens.

As the scooter rider approaches the car he kicks out his right leg, and does it hard enough that we see the driver’s side door mirror on the police car break off its mounting and dangle limp, as if it’s been knocked off by another car passing too close.

But that kick was also strong enough to completely de-stabilize the scooter rider, whose front tire slips out from under him on the wet road surface, sending the scooter and its rider sliding down the street. The rider isn’t wearing a helmet but is lucky to fall with his arms outstretched, saving his head from hitting the ground. But even so, you just know it’s more than his pride that’s going to be hurting when he wakes up tomorrow.

Next, we see the heavy-set scooter pilot frantically trying to pull himself and his machine back together so they can make an escape, but as he pulls the scooter upright the seat unit falls off. At this point the quad rider comes to the rescue, grabbing the seat and some other bits of broken scooter from the floor while the humiliated vandal flees the scene.

North Wales Police weren’t able to apprehend the vandal at the scene but are asking the public to help identify the pair, particularly the scooter rider, who Inspector Luke Hughes said “underestimated the strength of his spaghetti legs, causing more damage to [his scooter] than the police vehicle,” BBC News reports.
