Aussies Get 2022 Genesis G70 Shooting Brake With A 2.0L Turbo And A AU$79,000 Starting Price

It might not be available in the U.S., but that doesn’t mean that only European buyers will get to enjoy the Genesis G70 Shooting Brake as the car has also just launched in Australia.

Genesis unveiled the G70 Shooting Brake earlier this year and as is the case in overseas markets, the Aussie model will be sold exclusively with the brand’s entry-level 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine. This powertrain is good for 240 hp (179 kW) and 260 lb-ft (353 Nm) of torque which are sent to the rear wheels thanks to an eight-speed automatic transmission that was developed in-house. Sadly, this means the flagship 3.3-liter twin-turbo V6 offered with the G70 sedan is not available.

The G70 Shooting Brake will also only be offered in a single trim level in Australia. Priced from AU$79,000 (US$56,222), it includes key features like Forward Attention Warning, Driver Attention Warning with Leading Vehicle Departure Alert, Forward Collision-Avoidance Assist, Rear Cross-Traffic Collision-Avoidance Assist, Blind-Spot Collision-Avoidance Assist Rear, Smart Cruise Control, Blind-Spot View Monitor, Lane Keeping Assist and Lane Following Assist.

As standard, the G70 Shooting Brake comes equipped with the Luxury Package that includes Nappa leather, G Matrix style quilting, a 10.25-inch infotainment display and a 12.3-inch 3D digital instrument cluster. Customers can opt for the Sport Line Styling package for no additional cost that adds 19-inch sport alloy wheels, a sports grille, dark chrome exterior highlights, suede headliner and pillars, and sports pedals.

Other standard features of Australia’s G70 Shooting Brake include a panoramic glass sunroof, heated and ventilated front seats, electro-chromatic mirrors, laminated front door glass, and a Qi standard wireless phone charger.
