Should The Next Honda Ridgeline Look Like The New Passport?

Image
A boxier shape could help to broaden the appeal of the mid-size Ridgeline pickup. The existing Honda Ridgeline has been in production since 2017 without significant changes. This year, Honda debuted the 2026 Passport marking a significant departure from its predecessor. With a bolder, boxier design and enhanced off-road capabilities, it shows Honda’s renewed interest in more adventurous and rugged SUVs. But here’s the real question: could Honda’s mid-size Ridgeline pickup benefit from a similar transformation? We think so, and these renderings only prove the point. The current, second-generation Ridgeline has been around since 2017, and while it remains one of the more compelling options in the mid-size pickup segment, it’s clear that both its exterior and interior are starting to show their age. Last month, 106,155 new EVs were sold in the U.S., a 2.3% increase year-over-year. Higher incentives and improved leasing options are key factors behind the EV sales surge. The average transaction price for new EVs dropped to $56,902, down 1.2% month-over-month. While the growth in electric vehicle sales has slowed throughout much of 2024, this year is still shaping up to break records for both new and used EV sales across the United States . The shift toward electrification remains one of the most pivotal trends in the automotive world, and even with a few bumps along the way, the market is continuing to evolve. According to recent data published by Cox Automotive, October saw 106,155 new EVs sold across the country, representing a 2.3% increase from September and a 6.7% rise year-to-date. The Dodge Charger Daytona EV Follows Tesla’s Hidden Manual Door Handle Lead

Image
Dozens of cars today use electric poppers to open their doors. In some cases, the physical backup is somewhat hidden or tough to find. The all-new Dodge Charger Daytona seems to follow the trend of hidden handles. For well over a decade, some production cars have shown up to owners with electric door poppers. The technology isn’t exclusive to electric vehicles or exactly novel, either. The C5 Chevrolet Corvette has electronic door releases, as does the Dodge Viper. In the USA, any car with this type of door release has to have a manual backup, and that’s where we find our problem today. Every automaker gets to decide where and how they’ll employ that manual backup. Let’s have a quick look at exactly where Dodge decided to put them on the new Charger Daytona .
