Ford Mustang Mach-E GT Owners Can Unlock Extra Power For $995

Image
2024 Ford Mustang Mach-E GT owners can unlock an extra 100 lb-ft of torque for $995. The extra oomph allows the crossover to accelerate from 0-60 mph in 3.3 seconds. It appears the upgrade is a one-time thing, unlike the monthly, annually, and lifetime options offered by Mercedes. If you have a need for speed, you’d probably bypass the Ford Mustang Mach-E and get the real thing. However, if you didn’t, you might be able to eke out a little more performance. Ford has announced the 2024 Mustang Mach-E GT can get a “performance upgrade” at the time of purchase or after the fact. It “combines innovative powertrain thermal modeling and control algorithms” with an extra 100 lb-ft (135 Nm) of torque. More: 2024 Ford Mustang Mach-E Charges Faster, Has More Range And Packs More Power Ford says this enables the electric crossover to accelerate from 0-60 mph (0-96 km/h) in 3.3 seconds and run the quarter mile in 11.8 seconds at 114 mph (183 km/h). Those are pretty impressive numb...

Snapchat CEO Faces Questions In Lawsuit Over 107 MPH Crash Involving Snapchat’s Speed Filter

Image
Snapchat’s current CEO must answer questions about his company’s speed filter as part of a lawsuit into a high-speed 2015 crash in Georgia. Christal McGee was travelling at 107 mph when she smashed into Wentworth Maynard, leaving him with a permanent brain injury. Snapchat withdrew the controversial filter, which superimposes your speed over what the phone’s camera sees, in 2021. The company behind social media world’s Snapchat can’t shake the bad publicity resulting from a controversial Speed Filter, even though it withdrew the function in 2021 . Last week a Judge in Georgia, ruled that Snapchat’s current CEO, Evan Spiegel, must face questions in a lawsuit brought against a woman who badly injured the driver of another car in a high-speed crash while allegedly using the app. Snapchat’s Speed Filter was a digital speedometer superimposed on whatever image the user’s smartphone camera was seeing. The filter was introduced in 2013 and unsurprisingly it quickly found itself...

South Pasadena Cops Are Now Only Rolling Around In Teslas

Local authorities will use the Model Y as a pursuit vehicle and the Model 3 as an administrative vehicle. Mercedes-AMG CLE 63 Could Pack A Twin-Turbo V8 Punch

Image
Work continues on the Mercedes-AMG CLE 63 as spy photographers have caught a lightly camouflaged prototype. This particular model eschews a charging port, suggesting it has a twin-turbo 4.0-liter V8. If that’s the case it could have around 577 hp and 590 lb-ft of torque. The Mercedes CLE lineup continues to grow and spy photographers have snapped new pictures of the 63 variant. It’s wearing minimal disguise, which suggests an unveiling could be right around the corner. Regardless of when it will be introduced, the Mercedes-AMG CLE 63 follows in the footsteps of the 53 and has a Panamericana grille as well as a wide central intake with vertical bars. However, the 63 goes one step further as it features unique fins in the air intakes. More: This Mercedes-AMG CLE 63 Prototype Appears To Eschew PHEV Power The déjà vu design continues further back as we can see sporty side skirts, front fender vents, and lightweight wheels that are backed up by a beefy braking system. This 4,400-Mile VW Jetta Is A Wolfsburg-Built Wormhole Back To 1981

Image
A 1981 VW Jetta survivor has cropped up on an internet auction site showing just 4,400 miles on the clock. The 1.6-liter automatic features Diamond Silver metallic paint, a rip-free black vinyl interior and the huge bumpers demanded by US regulations. Bids close on August 5 on the Bring a Trailer website. Despite SUVs continually eating up sales that would have once gone to traditional mass-market sedans, the VW Jetta survives into the 2025 model year. But how many of those 2025 Jettas will have survived as well as this 1981 car 43 years from now? We’re guessing almost none, because this Mk1 Jetta doesn’t only look well, it’s covered fewer miles in its near-half century on the planet that most cars have after half a year on the road. The anaolog odometer shows just 4,400 miles (7,080 km).
