Hyundai Kills The Accent And Veloster N In America

Image
The carpocalypse continues as Hyundai Motor America has announced the deaths of three different models for 2023. First and foremost, the Accent is going the way of the dodo. Hyundai said the model is being discontinued “due to an expanded SUV lineup,” which includes the Venue that will now serve as their entry-level model. However, it’s important to note the Accent started at $16,645 while the Venue begins at $19,000. That’s a pretty significant difference, but consumers have fallen in love with crossovers and this has caused Accent sales to plummet . Hyundai sold 79,766 Accents in the United States as recently as 2016, but sales dropped to 19,614 units last year. Even before the pandemic, Hyundai only sold 25,628 Accents in 2019. Can The Ford Bronco Raptor Keep Pace With A Jeep Wrangler 392?

Image
If you want a potent off-roader that makes just as a big of a statement on the road as it will along a mountainous trail, the Ford Bronco Raptor and Jeep Wrangler 392 are two of the best options. However, which is quicker in a straight line? While some had anticipated that Ford would equip the Bronco Raptor with a V8, it didn’t and has instead fitted it with a 3.0-liter twin-turbocharged EcoBoost V6. This engine is good for 418 hp and 440 lb-ft (596 Nm) of torque, quite a substantial leap from the 2.7-liter EcoBoost V6 available on the standard Bronco that produces 330 hp. The Fast Lane Car conducted a series of drag races between the pair and the results speak for themselves. In tests performed roughly a mile above sea level, the Wrangler

Practicality and usability go out of the window when designing a car for SEMA and instead, it is all about making a statement. That’s exactly what this Camaro does. Chevrolet’s 2023 Corvette Z06 NFT Fails To Sell After No Bids Were Placed

Image
In mid-June, Chevrolet ventured into the world of NFTs by designing a special piece of art for the 2023 Corvette Z06 and attempting to auction it off alongside a real-life Z06. However, the online auction failed to attract any bids. Consumer interest in NFT projects has waned due to the falling cryptocurrency market and anyone wanting to have purchased the Z06 ‘Own the Color’ NFT would have needed to part ways with at least 206 ETH (~$228,000 at the time of writing), the opening bid for the piece of art. Watch Also: The 2023 Chevy Corvette Z06 Sounds Properly Exotic On Public Roads Corvette Blogger notes that the auction initially ended on Friday with zero bids. However, the crypto company selling the piece, SuperRare , soon announced that it was extending the auction for an additional 24 hours, claiming that users “missed the Corvette Z06 NFT auction window” because of the recent NFT.NYC event. However, not even extending the auction was enough to attract any bids. Speaking

The Cadillac Lyriq Waves The GM Parts Bin Goodbye

Image
In an era where supply chain issues are a constant headache for automakers, it’s remarkable to learn the 2023 Cadillac Lyriq doesn’t feature a single parts bin interior component. It’s a welcome change and one that has been long overdue for GM’s luxury brand. Interior quality has long been Cadillac’s Achilles’ heel as they’re a luxury brand, but have access to a huge selection of GM components. There’s an obvious temptation to use them as it saves money, and there’s always the argument of whether or not customers will care if their windows switches or door handles are shared with something like the Chevrolet Blazer or Buick Enclave . While a number of owners would probably never notice, it introduces an air of cheapness into the vehicle. Furthermore, these parts bin components can add up and ultimately result in a luxury vehicle that falls short of being truly luxurious.
