Bring A Trailer’s Most Popular Auction Last Year Wasn’t Even A Car

  • A military tank led Bring a Trailer’s most popular auctions.
  • Ferrari LaFerrari commanded the highest price of the year.
  • Seven-figure supercars continued to dominate the upper tier.

Long before Bring a Trailer became the go-to place for many high-end dealers to flip exotics for monstrous premiums, the auction site was primarily home to oddball creations, rare classics, and enthusiast cars. Last year, it was one of these oddball listings that was the platform’s most popular.

And it was not a vehicle in the conventional sense, or even a motorcycle. It was a Leyland FV4201 Chieftain Main Battle Tank. Ranked by a mix of views, comments, and bids, the late November auction pulled in nearly 160,000 views and 423 comments before finally selling for $107,000.

The FV4201 Chieftain was primarily used by the UK from the late 1960s through to the 1990s. This example was finished in olive drab and black and included a functional rotating turret, a 120 mm gun, and a fully-equipped cabin with space for a crew of four. Obviously, the tank cannot be driven on the road, but someone was obviously happy to spend a lot on it.

And if you think that was a one-off moment of internet madness, think again. The second most-viewed auction on Bring a Trailer in 2025 was another tank, this time a 1962 Centurion MK 13. It sold for $130,000 to popular YouTuber Westen Champlin, who owns a large property where he can actually drive the beast.

BaT’s Most Popular Cars

When it comes to cars, it seems BaT’s audience really has a thing for low-mileage Acuras and Porsches recommissioned by Singer. The third-most viewed auction was for a silver Singer DLS that sold for $3 million, with just 18 miles on the odometer.

A 2001 Acura Integra Type R proved just as capable of igniting the comments section, generating 554 posts before selling for a remarkable $204,204. Another Singer DLS, this one finished in blue, rounded out the top five most viewed auctions.

As for outright money, the biggest sale of the year was a 2014 Ferrari LaFerrari at $4,475,000. That put it ahead of a 2022 Bugatti Chiron Super Sport at $4 million and a 2019 Chiron Sport at $3,185,333.

Completing the top five was a 2015 Porsche 918 Spyder Weissach Package at $3,112,000. In total, 48 cars broke through the seven figure barrier over the course of the year.

It was not just a strong year for headline grabbing lots. It was a record one for the platform. Bring a Trailer moved more than $1.7 billion worth of cars, bikes, parts, and memorabilia in 2025, marking its fourth consecutive year clearing the $1 billion mark.
